Join us for a two day celebration of the Hudson River! Festivities hosted by the Hudson River Maritime Museum with the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater.

Discount Admission to the museum both days. Admission to the museum courtyard and vendor areas is free.

Festivities run from 11 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday, HRMM Museum Courtyard Complex:

  • - Heart to Hearth Cookery – authentic 18th century open air and 19th century shipboard cooking demonstrations
  • - Hudson Talbott, Hudson Valley author and illustrator reads and discusses his bookRiver of Dreams.
  • - Broadway Photo Booth – located in the Kingston Home Port and Education Center. Fee applies.
  • - Visiting historic and replica vessels at the museum docks
  • - Music Under the Gazebo throughout the day featuring local bands and musicians
  • Clothesline Art Show displayed along the steam tug Mathilda (weather permitting)
  • - Local vendors and partner non-profit organizations
  • - 3:30 PM – Special performance by POOK (Percussion Orchestra of Kingston) and the Center for Creative Education’s Energy Dance Company
  • - Children’s hands-on activities, boat building, and more!

Sunday, HRMM Museum Courtyard Complex:

  • - Visiting historic and replica vessels at the museum docks
  • Clothesline Art Show displayed along the steam tug Mathilda (weather permitting)
  • - Local vendors and partner non-profit organizations
  • - A series of shorts and films will be shown in the Kingston Home Port and Education Center at the Hudson River Maritime Museum throughout the day: “Boats!” a 1938 educational film which follows Rodger and Nancy as they explore the Hudson River Day Line steamer the Alexander Hamilton as it travels from Albany to New York; “Steamboat Willie,” a vintage Walt Disney short featuring the first appearance of Mickey and Minnie Mouse; and ”Steamboat Bill, Jr.” starring Buster Keaton and Ernest Torrence.

Rondout Area Activities
In addition to the museum’s offerings, Hudson Rising is sponsoring a variety of activities and vendors along the Rondout waterfront both Saturday and Sunday.“Hudson Rising” is a showcase of the region’s tourism and sustainable economic development potential. It presents a variety of “themed villages” celebrating a greater, greener New York State. Four tour stops are planned in the Hudson Valley – Yonkers, Ossining, Kingston and Beacon. The City of Kingston is the focus for Saturday, July 20.

Uptown Stockade District Offerings

Uptown historic sites will be participating in Hudson River Days on Saturday, July 20th.

Featuring: A Scavenger Hunt for Treasures at 7 Historic Sites: Matthewis Persen House, The Reher Center for Immigrant Culture and History exhibit on 2nd Floor of Persen House, Volunteer Fireman’s Hall & Museum, Fred J. Johnston Museum @ the Friends of Historic Kingston, Loughran House @ the Senate House Historic Site, Old Dutch Church, Ulster County Court House.
