The museum has extensive archives of Hudson River maritime and industrial photos, documents, maps, charts, and ephemera which is used for exhibit preparation and for research. The archives are available to serious researchers and students. We also have an extensive library of books related to our subject matter available for research.

Special collections of documents and photos in our archives include the Ray Ruge Iceboating Collection, the Staples Brick Company Collection, the Feeney Boatbuilding Collection, and the Dwyer Boatbuilding and Related Businesses Collection. We also have a large collection of documents, photos and drawings related to the Cornell Steamboat Company and much ephemera from the famous Hudson River Day Line, including brochures, posters, and hundreds of photos.
