Make Waves With Your Field Trip!
The Hudson River Maritime Museum offers educational programming for all ages. In the museum, visit a replica of Henry Hudson’s aft cabin, learn about the speed and skill of ice racing, try your hand at operating some simple machines, and learn about the industrial past of the Rondout Creek and the D&H canal.

Then hop on board the Lark for a trip out to the Rondout Lighthouse to learn about the history of lighthouses and the lives of the families who lived there. Tour the family living spaces, do a hands-on  activity, and go up in the lighthouse tower to for a great view of the Hudson River.

Scheduling
Trips may be scheduled for weekdays during the season, May through October. The museum is open for field trips from 9 am to 3:30 pm. We can accommodate up to three classes of 25 students per day.

Programs last between 2 and 3 hours, not including time for lunch. Tours of the museum can be tailored based on subject (e.g. transportation, industry, environment/ecology, etc.). Special workshops and programs may also be available. Ask about how HRMM can help you meet the new Core Curriculum Standards. Please call or e-mail for more information.
