Join us for this exciting 6-week long Introduction to Oil Painting. Experienced artist, Stephen Lewis, instructs this introductory oil painting course, providing thorough instruction in a creative atmosphere over looking the beautiful Rondout Creek. Focusing on the "still life" as a point of departure, we will begin by working with grisaille studies to establish a deeper understanding of "value"; from there we will progress into the zorn Palette exploring the depth and variety of color that can be achieved using this limited color pallette. Tuition for this course includes three canvases, solvents, and medium. Additional materials are required for this course; you can purchase a basic materials kit, including: 3 brushes of different sizes, paints specific for this class, paper palettes, and palette knife, through us for an additional fee.
