Build Your Own Skin-on-Frame Solo/Tandem Canoe FULL September 29-30, October 6-7, 2018
Guest boatbuilding instructor Hilary Russell, Director of the Berkshire Boat Building School (www.berkshireboatbuildingschool.org) will lead this unique course on building skin-on-frame double paddle canoes. Using kits designed by Russell, students will spend two weekends building their own tandem/solo canoe by constructing a wooden frame and stretching on a polyester "skin.” These 28 lb. canoes are strong and can up to 350 pounds. Easily car-topped, they are perfect for casual paddlers and beginning boatbuilders alike. Don't miss out on the opportunity to build your own beautiful, functional canoe! Price includes $700 kit.
DATES: Two Saturdays & Sundays, September 29 & 30, October 6 & 7, 2018, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. Also on the Fridays September 28 and October 5 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PMthe instructor will be setting up. You are welcome to help with the set up, get a head start, or catch up at these times. Attendance on these Fridays will be optional.
PRICE: $1,275 for HRMM members, $1,500 for non-members.
