Historic Hudson River Tour
During the months of November and December, the Hudson River Maritime Museum will be partnering with Kingston Boat Co. to offer a history journey of the Rondout Creek and local Hudson River waters.
A docent from the Hudson River Maritime Museum will lead this hour-and-a-half voyage onboard a 1934 passenger boat, Stroller IV, past the former industries that lined the Kingston waterfront, the Rondout Lighthouse, and then south on the Hudson River to the Esopus Meadows Lighthouse.
The Hudson River Maritime Museum docent will introduce passengers to the booming maritime industry of the 19th century and explore the histories of this region's lighthouses; in addition, the voyage will pass within view of two manors on the eastern banks of the Hudson River, Staatsburgh State Historic Site (Mills Mansion) and Wilderstein.
