KINGSTON, N.Y. — Fall brings a new season of experiences aboard the Hudson River Maritime Museum’s 100% solar-powered boat Solaris, with a full lineup of cruises on the Rondout Creek and Hudson River throughout October.

The October schedule includes several new ways to enjoy the river in its autumn setting. Leaf Peeping Tours offer views of the changing landscape from the water, while Twilight Cruises provide an evening perspective on the river. Guests can also explore the stars and themselves with Tarot & Astrology readings, or enjoy a Cider & Wine Tasting with Rose Hill Farm.

Returning programs offer opportunities to combine the river with history, nature, and relaxation. Rondout Lighthouse Tours bring passengers up close to one of the Hudson’s historic lighthouses, while Historic Lecture Cruises explore the people and stories connected to the river. River Gong offers a quieter experience, combining meditation and sound healing with a cruise along the waterfront.

With its quiet, electric propulsion, Solaris offers a unique way to experience the Hudson Valley in the fall. Every Solaris ticket also includes free admission to the Hudson River Maritime Museum, making it easy to combine a cruise with a visit to the museum’s exhibits.
October cruises run throughout the month, with the fall schedule continuing through October 31.

Tickets and the complete schedule are available at HRMM.org/solaris-cruises.

The Hudson River Maritime Museum is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the maritime history of the Hudson River, its tributaries and related industries. In addition to extensive collections documenting maritime transportation, industry, recreation, and natural science, the museum offers classes and programs at its Woodworking School, Sailing and Rowing School, and aboard Solaris, the 100% solar powered tour boat and floating classroom. Now in its 46th year, HRMM is located along the historic Rondout waterfront in downtown Kingston.

KINGSTON, N.Y. -- The Hudson River Maritime Museum will host Hudson Valley 250 & Beyond: Corridor of Commerce Day on Saturday, October 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Presented in cooperation with the Maurice D. Hinchey Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area and the Hudson River Valley Greenway, this free public event will celebrate the Hudson River’s enduring role in shaping the communities and industries of the Hudson Valley.

From shipbuilding and canal commerce to ice harvesting, transportation, and lighthouse keeping, the Hudson River has long been a vital corridor connecting people, goods, and ideas. Visitors will discover this rich history through participating regional organizations, special activities, free museum tours, and rides aboard HRMM’s 100% solar-powered Solaris.

Participating organizations include:
  • Maurice D. Hinchey Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area
  • Reher Center
  • Clearwater
  • Century House Historical Society
  • D&H Canal Historical Society
  • Hudson River Ice Yacht Association
  • Hudson-Athens Lighthouse

Solaris will offer rides to the Rondout Lighthouse throughout the day, providing a unique perspective on the river and one of its historic navigational landmarks. Rides will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, weather conditions permitting.

Corridor of Commerce Day is part of Hudson Valley 250 & Beyond, an initiative of the Maurice D. Hinchey Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area celebrating 250 years of American history and exploring the Hudson Valley’s continuing story through themes including commerce, culture, freedom, and environmental stewardship.
