With $1 Million Raised to Date, Hudson River Maritime Museum
announces Capital Campaign

Kingston, NY (September 17, 2024)—The Hudson River Maritime Museum announced today the launch of the public phase of its capital campaign, Navigating Forward. The campaign has already raised $1 million during its quiet phase. With an overall goal of $1.3 million, the Navigating Forward Campaign supports a campus-wide infrastructure initiative that addresses several key areas of improvement, including strategic planning around long-term campus resilience against future flooding, installing energy-efficient systems in existing museum buildings, and upgrades to the exterior space to be more accessible and welcoming. Campaign contributions so far include monies from New York State Senator, Michelle Hinchey, New York Assembly Member, Sarahana Shrestha, Arts MidHudson, and Partners for Climate Action Hudson Valley, among others.

“The Navigating Forward Campaign for HRMM is critical to ensuring that the museum’s campus and buildings can be enjoyed and experienced by audiences for years to come,” stated Lisa Cline, HRMM’s Executive Director. “The organization has seen tremendous growth in the last decade with additional schools and programs. The public phase of our capital campaign provides an exciting opportunity to engage a wider community in the support of the Museum realizing its full potential. We are grateful to our elected officials, and the many individuals who have played an integral role in our fundraising efforts thus far. We look forward to wrapping up this critical next phase of our campaign, which will help us reach our final fundraising goal.”

The Hudson River Maritime Museum is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the maritime history of the Hudson River, its tributaries and related industries.
