Hudson River Stewards

Hudson River Stewards

Picture
In the spring of 2015 the Hudson River Maritime Museum and Hudson River Sloop Clearwater partnered to provide a Common Core aligned, comprehensive history and environmental education program for the entire Kingston City School District fourth grade (appx. 500 students in 19 classes). Combining in-class programs with an on-site field trip in early May, the program was a success and HRMM and Clearwater partnered with Kingston, Saugerties, Livingston Manor, and Hyde Park school districts in 2016.

This program is also open to other districts in the Hudson Valley.

Program Details

Today, Hudson River Stewards serves almost 800 4th grade students each year and continues to grow! By partnering with Clearwater, Apollonia, and the musically talented Linda Richards we provided students with a once in a life-time experience of learning about primary and secondary sources, museum tours, live music, geography puzzle, environmental science station, and boat deck tours.

We offer two different packages to choose from for this program.
