The Rowing School at the Hudson River Maritime Museum
The Hudson River Maritime Museum is returning to teaching the art of traditional rowing. The Rowing School seeks to get a new generation of enthusiasts out on the water and preserve the tradition of rowing on the Hudson River. We offer a variety of classes to get students out onto the water as they learn the history of traditional rowing.
The Hudson River Maritime Museum is the home of the Kingston High School Varsity Crew Team. Student competitors are included in our exhibit "Rowing on the Hudson" in our East Gallery. The Museum is host to several rowing regattas throughout the year, and the home of Head of the Rondout.
Rondout Rowing Club
Rondout Rowing Club's home docks are located off the museum's campus on the Rondout Creek. The club was formed in 1999 by new and experienced rowers to bring rowing to the Kingston community. The club currently provides programs for all abilities from novice to advanced rowers and sponsors the Kingston High School Crew.
