WELCOME Come celebrate the maritime heritage of the Hudson Valley and Rondout Creek at The Maritime Festival at the Hudson River Maritime Museum!
FEATURING THE NATIONAL BOAT BUILDING CHALLENGE In 2017, the Hudson River Maritime Museum hosted its first annual National Boat Building Challenge, where teams of two compete to build a boat from scratch in just four hours, and then compete in a rowing race on the Rondout with cash prizes for the team with the best score in all three categories: speed, quality, and rowing race. HRMM's event is a qualifying challenge, one of just a few competitions around the country. Held only on Saturday, June 20, 2020, this thrilling competition draws national and local competitors alike and the 4:00 PM rowing race is the highlight of Saturday's events.
THE ANTIQUE AND CLASSIC BOAT SOCIETY The Antique and Classic Boat Society, Inc. is an international non-profit organization dedicated to bringing together people with a common interest in historic, antique and classic boats whose objective is preserving and restoring them. The Hudson River Chapter is one of the local New York metropolitan area groups within the Antique and Classic Boat Society, representing home ports from New York City to Albany, New York. More information is available on the chapter web page HERE. IT'S ALONG THE BEAUTIFUL RONDOUT WATERFRONT Kingston's Rondout Waterfront District is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved in the Hudson Valley. The Hudson River Maritime Museum is located right on Rondout Creek, a historic deep water industrial port and terminus of the Delaware & Hudson Canal. Within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants housed in beautiful historic buildings and featuring a creekside brick promenade over a mile long, the Hudson River Maritime Museum is centrally located on the Rondout and the perfect place to spend the weekend.
