The Parent-Child Sailing class is for parents (or grandparents, caretakers, relatives) and their children ages five to eight. The class comprises five 3-hour sessions (15 hours total), and aims to introduce children to the basics of sailing in a nurturing environment so that each student develops as a sailor while making new friends and having new experiences. The course is designed for one parent (or grandparent, etc.) to sail with one child.

No prior sailing experience is necessary.

Please register and pay tuition for two individuals: child and adult.

Voyager Program: Ages 9 - 17

Join us this summer for an exciting, new, all-day youth program combining the considerable strengths and history of the Hudson River Maritime Museum, now in its 46th year! The HRMM Voyager Program offers a truly unique and hands-on opportunity for young participants to learn both sailing and boat construction while exploring key concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM).

Open to all skill levels, our Seafarers (9-12 years old) and Navigators (13-17 years old) will spend each day sailing for three hours, practicing boat building and woodworking for 90 minutes, and participating in other STEAM activities involving history, crafts, games, and tours on our solar tour boat, Solaris, all while fostering learning, friendship, and adventure. Seafarers and Navigators will come together for a mid-day lunch onshore.

The program is led by professional ship-wrights, museum educators, and US Sailing Certified Instructors who help participants explore how STEAM principles apply in the woodshop and on the water.
