Solar Boat Tours

Solaris Tours - 2023 Summer Season

Join us on board Solaris, our 100% solar-powered tour boat May through October for our many specially themed boat tours happening on the Rondout Creek and Hudson River. Our tours include Native American history, the history of steamboats and 19th-century industrialization on the River, Bird Watching and Photography, and many more!

We offer tours to two-of-the-seven remaining lighthouses on the Hudson River, and our popular Rondout Lighthouse tours are the only way to dock at and explore Kingston's historic lighthouse.

Our Wrecked and Abandoned tours take passengers down the Rondout Creek where boats of all sizes and makes lay aground or under water, each being an important piece of the creek's long and rich history as a vital port on the Hudson River.

Looking for less adventure and more relaxation? We offer many cruises, including our Northbridge Sunset Cruises and Twilight Tasting Cruises, that are great ways to unwind and enjoy beautiful scenery while learning about local history.

All boat tour tickets include admission to the museum (our summer hours are Wednesday-Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm).

If you have questions about Solaris tours and accessibility, you can read more HERE, or contact us at Education@HRMM.org.

Tickets are now available!

Public Boat Tours

The Hudson River Maritime Museum is located at 50 Rondout Landing, Kingston NY 12401. Please be sure when you arrive that you are boarding our tour boat, Solaris, and not another vessel docked along the Rondout Creek. Often, visitors can confuse Solaris with the vessel located next door, the Rip Van Winkle II. Solaris is operated by the Hudson River Maritime Museum whereas the Rip Van Winkle II is operated by Hudson River Cruises.

You can purchase tickets online or call 845-338-0071 to register by phone. Looking for book a private charter? Please fill out the form below by clicking on the "book a private charter" button.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

In the event that the Hudson River Maritime Museum cancels a tour or charter at any time, full refunds will be issued. Same day cancellations due to inclement weather will result in full refunds and attendees will be offered complimentary admission to the Hudson River Maritime Museum. Should a boat ride or tour be cut short for any reason, full or partial refunds will be issued at the discretion of the captain.

Cancellations initiated by customers within 14 days of tour departure will receive a full refund. Cancellations between 13 days and 24 hours of tour departure will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 24 hours of tour departure or no-shows will not receive a refund. Customers who miss the boat may visit the museum and an effort will be made to transfer their tickets to a later tour if space allows, but no refunds will be issued. Please call 845-338-0071 to cancel your reservation.
