Local Organizations to Host Rescuing the River ExhibitKingston N.Y.- The Hudson River Maritime Museum’s Rescuing the River exhibit has captivated museum visitors for the past three years, and now, it is going on the road. Tracing the roles of individuals and organizations in the environmental movement in New York State, the exhibit focuses on Scenic Hudson, Clearwater, Riverkeeper, and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, from the 1960s to today. The exhibit and its exceedingly relevant message will soon be available to the greater community thanks to three local organizations. Visitors can see the exhibit for themselves at the Newburgh Free Library during the month of April 2022, at the Norrie Point Environmental Center from May through July 2022, and in the Ulster County CCE’s Youth Building at the Ulster County Fair from August 2nd-7th 2022. This exhibit is sponsored by Bank of America. Additional funding for this exhibit was generously provided by a grant from Humanities NY with additional support from Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Riverkeeper, and Marist College. If your organization is interested in displaying the Rescuing the River exhibit at your location, please contact Exhibit Coordinator Lauryn Czyzewski at [email protected].
