7TH ANNUAL RIVERPORT WOMEN’S SAILING CONFERENCE ANNOUNCED

Hudson River Maritime Museum & Kingston Sailing Club Present Women’s Sailing Conference 
Saturday, March 23, 2024
Pre-Conference, Friday, March 22, 2024


KINGSTON, N.Y. (December 6, 2023) – The Sailing School at the Hudson River Maritime Museum and the Kingston Sailing Club are pleased to announce registration for the Seventh Annual Riverport Women’s Sailing Conference (RWSC), March 22 - 23, 2024, is now open. 
RWSC will be held in person, on land, on the Hudson River Maritime Museum’s campus in Kingston, New York on Saturday, March 23. This annual gathering of sailors and aspiring sailors welcomes people who have not traditionally been able to learn to sail into the maritime community and offers them the opportunity to improve their sailing skills. All workshops will be taught by expert women mariners. People of all genders are welcome to register.

Registration for the Conference and the pre-conference keynote dinner and presentation can be found at www.hrmm.org/riverport-womens-conference. Tuition for adults is $95 with discounts available for HRMM members. Youth registration is available for $65.


A pre-conference keynote dinner featuring guest presenter Captain Nitzan Levy will be held on Friday, March 22 at Savonas Next Door, 11 Broadway, Kingston, NY from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Captain Nitzan Levy--a sailor, social entrepreneur, and the founder of Neptune’s Daughter--will share stories from her unique journey in creating a maritime-centered life. She will also conduct two workshops during the Conference on Saturday, March 23.

Conference registrants will enjoy a full Saturday of workshops, networking, coffee/light
breakfast, lunch, and door prizes. Participants will select four or more workshops on topics
including Planning a Charter Vacation; Becoming a Boat Owner; Navigation with Charts;
Coastal and Offshore Passage Planning; Sail Care and Repair; Knots for Sailors; Outboard
Engine Troubleshooting; Diesel Engine Maintenance; Introduction to Racing; Spinnaker
Racing; Double-Handed Racing; and more.

The Hudson River Maritime Museum is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the maritime history of the Hudson River, its tributaries and related industries. In addition to extensive collections documenting maritime transportation, industry, recreation, and natural science, the museum offers classes and programs at its Wooden Boat School, Sailing and Rowing School, and aboard Solaris, the 100% solar powered tour boat and floating classroom.
